Job Description

​​Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Project Coordinator located in Edmonton, Alberta, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Vancouver, British Columbia and will require travel throughout the Province. Project Coordinator will assist with the overall administrative direction for one large or several smaller construction projects. They will assist with the overall performance, including the management of costs, schedule, and project status while maintaining excellent relations with the employees, subcontractors, consultants, and our clients.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Construction Project Manager in project administration and field work
• Work with construction change orders, notices and revisions
• Assist with the planning and preparation of construction schedules, milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
• Assist with preparing contracts and negotiation of revisions (as required)
• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
• Assist in and monitor the purchase of supplies and materials
• Assist with the coordination of tender packages and associated documents
• Review work, contracts, WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies
• Enforce contractual responsibilities with subcontractors
• Tracking and reporting of daily quantities and produ

Desired Skills & Experience

​• Completion of a Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering or a College Diploma in Engineering Technology
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience with Project Coordination or Management is required
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Electrical & Utilities is required
• Knowledge of construction industry is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of scheduling and project management software
• Blue print reading and project/structural design interpretation
• Understanding of project forecasting
• Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
• Able to demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Strong multi-task and organization skills
• JD Edwards experience desired
• Ability to travel as required
