Job Description

We are seeking a Building Operator with experience to join our Facilities Maintenance Operation for the Vernon / Kelowna Hospitals Project.  Reporting to the Kelowna Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient responses to work orders generated by our clients and internal request. Comprehensive experience with mechanical systems is essential to this position. This position involves working a shift  as required 12hr two days on two nights on four days off rotation. Our mandate is to provide an outstanding level of service to our client, so the successful candidate will possess solid operational experience and exceptional troubleshooting skills.   The ability to work independently and also be an integral part of a diverse team is crucial to our success.

  • Ability to maintain, repair and replace cabinetry
  • Respond to environment/comfort complaints
  • Start up/shut down major building equipment
  • Perform minor repairs including: replacing washers, faucets, sinks, clearing toilets and drains, cleaning grease traps and sumps, re-packing valves, replacing lamps, resetting breakers
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Must be able to speak, read & write in English
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Follow instructions both written and verbal.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees and customer.
  • Accomplish all duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain clear and courteous two way radio and/or phone etiquette.
  • A team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
  • Must be able to travel within the Okanagan Valley
  • Bending and Lifting Required; Lifting under 30 kgs.
  • Must be able to work on ladder or scaffold at various heights.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
