Project Coordinator – (Traffic Control Specialty) - Utilities

Job Description


  • Support the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications are met
  • Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Plan projects and prepare construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines
  • Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Complete budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
  • Coordinate work of trades and subcontractors 
  • Document control
  • Requisitions supplies and materials as required to complete project
  • Review work, contracts, WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies
Desired Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering  
  • Post graduate diploma in Construction Management
  • Certified or working towards Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Safety Management Training – IHSA Basics of Supervision or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with project scheduling software such as MS Project
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with  JD Edwards
  • Working knowledge of Blue Beam and Auto Cad
  • Detailed knowledge of labour productivity tracking and measurement and cost forecasting
  • Detailed knowledge of costing and budget projections
  • Detailed knowledge of the NECA manual for the electrical and civil estimation
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Safety Code, Traffic Signal Construction to meet IMSA standards
  • Working knowledge of ATMS, overhead traffic detection systems, presence and setback loops​
