Job Description

Position Summary

Estimators will analyze costs of and prepare estimates on mechanical construction projects.  In addition Estimators may provide technical and administrative support to project operations with emphasis on estimating, reporting and monitoring progress, planning and scheduling, and dealing with project change.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate estimates of probable costs of materials, labour, equipment and sub-trade for construction projects based on bid specification requirements and design build.
  • Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects regarding tenders.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.

Desired Skills & Experience

Education & Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of plumbing requirements in construction
  • HVAC piping requirements
  • Knowledge of mechanical piping and related equipment
  • Motivated and able to work with deadlines
  • Able to work independently and part of team
  • Graduate of mechanical engineering or construction technology or several years experience as a qualified trades-person in a mechanical field
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Projects)
  • Quick Pen estimating software a definite asset
  • Computerized estimating is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
