Energy/Electrical Service Projects Sales Representative
Black & McDonald Limited - Saskatoon
Job Description

​This specialized electrical project service sales position will focus on controls, automation, lighting and green energy projects. Attributes will include:  recognizing and pursuing electrical and energy efficiency business opportunities; utilizing practical knowledge to suggest upgrades that save energy and improve efficiency; and, identifying maintenance and repairs for electrical automation and controls in commercial and industrial facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and identifying energy conservation and efficiency opportunities
  • Identify retrofit opportunities of existing equipment for improved lighting and energy savings
  • Ability to prospect and follow-up on leads within guidelines and expectations
  • Comfortable making cold calls to find new clients and create sales opportunities
  • Ability to explain technical concepts that a customer can clearly understand
  • Perform all necessary activities to provide potential and existing customers with complete and accurate cost estimates
  • Maintain current industry knowledge and skills
  • Proactively qualify, prepare proposals and secure sustainable service project business as per sales margin quotas
  • Create revenue streams from building controls, automation, lighting, IR scanning and green energy projects
  • Establish and expand working relationships with internal/external customers and work with targeted external customers to determine product/solutions requirements
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the technicians
  • Manager secured project work including conducting start up meetings and directing on-site work
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts based on direct experiences with clients
  • Actively participate in company meetings and marketing events
Desired Skills & Experience

  • A university degree or college diploma in business, engineering or related field, or several years' experience in an electrical trade with a focus on sustainable options and systems
  • Self-motivated individual with a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision
  • Successful track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, building a new book of business and growing a market
  • Outgoing individual with impeccable customer service skills
  • Comfortable speaking publically with confidence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid drivers' license
