Job Description

Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Facility Coordinator and with ongoing support from the Black & McDonald FMO Field Supervisor, the Facility Maintenance individual will perform a multitude of duties including, but not limited to:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Grounds maintenance such as lawn mowing, gardening and fall cleanup
  • Perform and/or take a lead role in overseeing all grounds keeping & winter maintenance tasks
  • Plan & complete non-trade specific work orders in a safe, timely & satisfactory manner
  • Perform and document periodic facility inspections as required
  • Ensure all required environmental, health, and safety programs are implemented and followed
  • Ensure all facility operation and equipment maintenance manuals are current & relevant
  • Support for Facility Coordinator as required
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Facility Coordinator or FMO Field Supervisor

    Education & Skill Requirements 
  • Trade qualification and/or technical diploma, (or equivalent facility experience and knowledge), a definite asset
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a facility support role with emphasis on grounds keeping​  duties.
  • Familiarity with grounds keeping equipment & comfortable working outdoors.
  • Good  organizational and time management skills
  • Safe Work and Quality Assurance Practices
  • Some competency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work, and excellent time management and organization skills
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
