Job Description

​​Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Leadership Development Program Manager located in Markham, Ontario.   The LDP Program Manager will partner with the Learning & Development and Human Resources teams to develop high quality Leadership Development Program components supported by a high-performing team of learning & development professionals and located within our state-of-the-art facility located at our National Learning Centre in Markham, Ontario, this role has immediate access to technology support functions, business leaders and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the final selection process for identifying LDP candidates nominated from a pool of high-potential employees and candidates;
  • Within the rotational development program framework, build out detailed workplans for each rotation ensuring clear accountabilities, responsibilities, goals, objectives and measurable outcomes;
  • Work with the L&D team to create appropriate onboarding materials, training and a communication plan for key stakeholders including: LDP Candidates, Centers​ of Expertise, HR Partners, Mentors and Supervisors;
  • Design, plan and facilitate quarterly face-to-face sessions for LDP candidates including arranging for learning events, guest speakers, training seminars, presentations and team building activities;
  • Facilitate monthly progress check-ins with Managers, VPs and LDP candidates;
  • Monitor progress and raise any concerns to the Senior Manager;
  • Monitor and ensure the completion of progress reports and performance reviews;
  • Coordinate the transition of LDP candidates through the various rotational assignments;
  • Coordinate cross-functional team stretch assignment projects, monitor progress and completion of progress reports/presentations;
  • Support the facilitation of ongoing assessments, feedback and evaluation of LDP candidate progress and development;
  • Support the placement of successful LDP candidate graduates into full-time role.
Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in leading projects in a Leadership, Employee or Organizational Development capacity
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness or I/O Psychology
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, with experience in competency and needs analysis
  • Experience in a Construction and/or Facilities Management organization is strongly preferred
  • Certificate in, or working towards, Adult Training (CTP or CTDP)
  • Strong diagnostic and communication skills both written and verbal, specifically presentation/facilitation skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills; proven ability to build credible collaborative relationships  ​
