Job Description

Position Summary

Responsible for the execution of operations and maintenance contracts for the Facility Management & Operations (FMO) division. Supervise and oversee assigned staff and sub trade activities ensure contract deliverables are met.  Communicate with client and FMO team on all issues concerning execution of the contract including minor projects separate to the contract.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hiring, training and scheduling the staff needed to fulfill FMO contractual obligations.
  • Communicate with client and other facility occupants to ensure customer satisfaction and enhance our opportunity to secure out of scope extras, project work.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with clients on operations and invoicing as necessary.
  • Oversee all work orders including managing staff, ensuring material invoices are received in a timely fashion and that our work order management systems is kept current. Note: not all sites have mobile technologies.
  • Provide monthly client and management reports as per contract and FMO team requirements.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and trends project costs.
  • Manages our operations in client facilities for proper safety, comfort, productivity and efficiency to the standards of the contract, Black & McDonald and to the satisfaction of our customer and client
  • Other Duties as Assigned by your Manager

Education & Skill Requirements

  • Must hold a Reliability Clearance
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills. MS Outlook, Word, Excel literacy is necessary.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and read in English, French is an asset
  • Maintain clear and courteous phone and email etiquette.
  • Follow instructions both written and verbal.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees and customers.
  • Accomplish all duties and tasks as assigned.
  • A team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
  • Must have a working understand HVAC systems, their purpose and function as well as maintenance standards and purpose of O&M contracts.
  • Must possess strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of customers, employees, and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities. 
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and their operation.
  • Ability to manage and train entry-level personnel.
  • Ability to deal with customers and sub trades at all levels. 
  • Available for on-call emergencies
