Solar Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Responsible for ensuring that all site contractually required PMs are completed as per the site  

Schedule & perform all routine maintenance on Balance Of Systems, (Combiner Boxes, Re-combiners, PV modules)

Respond to Security System alarms during daylight hours 365 days per year, investigate, and generate reports to the customer

Identify production losses/site deficiencies

Schedule/maintain/supervise all Warranty repairs/replacements

Schedule/ perform/supervise all non-warranty repairs/replacements via CMMS system

Maintain Spare Parts Inventory on site for Customer and recommend replenishment as required.

Inspect and maintain all perimeter fencing

Perform snow plowing using site-vehicles as required to access site during winter months

Inspect and maintain gravel roads, complete non-warranty repairs

Inspect and maintain all site culverts/drainage ditches

Inspect and maintain all site landscaping utilizing site/lawn​ care equipment

Escort Customer, Customer Representatives, and IESO Representatives during site visits

Ensure all site visitors, Customer Representatives, Subcontractors, and Black & McDonald Service Personnel comply with Site/B&M Health & Safety Policies

Ensure compliance with all site mandated Environmental Policies

Supervise Customers Contractors who may perform alteration/construction activities on site

Provide ongoing direction to Junior PV technicians

 

Job Requirements

40 hours per week – Sunday to Saturday inclusive

Standard Workday 10 hours per day

Shift start times adjusted seasonally to ensure continuous B&M site presence during all daylight hours

Valid Driver's License

Electrical Trade License required

Prior solar-photovoltaic experience a definite asset.
