Job Description

Position Summary

Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking an enthusiastic  Health & Safety Coordinator to provide support to the Southern Ontario Region Health & Safety Team.  This entry level position will be of special interest to recent graduates of a Health and Safety Program or candidates interesting in pursuing a career in Health & Safety. This position will report directly to the Southern Ontario Region Health & Safety Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Day to day administrative support services for the Southern Ontario Region Health & Safety Manager and Department.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientations.
  • Maintain HS databases, administer sub-contractor programs, supporting job sites with project safety plans.
  • Data entry of New Hire Documentation, including entry of Health and Safety Training Records
  • Recording and maintenance of the incident statistical data base.
  • Assist and prepare where required, documentation for pre-qualification submissions.
  • Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee functions at office location and actively participate on the Committee.
  • Coordinate Health and Safety Training as required.
  • Produce regular reports as required.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Post secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety (pursuing or completed)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Experience with JD Edwards is an asset
