Job Description
  • Daily invoice processing into software, ensure accurate processing
  • Monitor accounts for efficient payments
  • Check email and voicemail daily to receive invoices and vendor inquiries or requests
  • Review and sort all invoices received on a daily basis 
  • ​Process cheque runs on a bi-weekly basis or as determined by the Controller
  • Run cash requirements report for all keyed and approved invoices (CAD & US) to be reviewed and approved by the Controller
  • Generate manual cheques as requested from the Controller and Payroll as selected from the cash requirements report
  • Ensure accuracy of all payments prior to distribution and mailing 
  • Review and resolve payment discrepancies on vendor statements, correspond with vendors to respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Key employee expense reports each month
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as scanning all batches, maintaining filing, faxing and photocopying
  • 3rd backup on Administration phone lines
Desired Skills & Experience
  • College Diploma or University Degree in a related field strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and general accounting principles​, processes and procedures 
  • ​Excellent organizational and time management skills; must be able to prioritize effectively
  • Strong analytical skills with an excellent attention to detail​
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel and Word​
  • Minimum 1-3 years previous experience in an Accounting role​
  • Proficiency in Windows based environment with strong knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Experience in JD Edwards is an asset​
