Position Summary

Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Training Coordinator located in Markham, Ontario to provide an inspirational learning experience for new and existing employees by assisting in the coordination, facilitation, training management and development of talent development programs and initiatives.  In addition, he/she will also help identify future training and individual development needs. This position reports directly to the Director, Training Learning and Development with a dotted line supporting the 4 functional areas within the department – Recruitment, Employee Branding, Employee Development and Leadership Development.    

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the training course curriculum and offerings to the organization
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, business partners, and participants to align training development with desired outcomes and ensure all material is relevant, accurate, and engaging
  • Responsible for the evaluation of all course/programs that will help measure employee engagement, achievement of the learning objectives, learners knowledge, transfer of learning and business impact
  • Manage and communicate the training course calendar schedule of offerings to employees 
  • Assist in the design and develop learning solutions with a focus on eLearning and some instructional design
  • Manage and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) platform, content and all schedules
  • Coordinate and communicating on a regular bases with internal LMS super users across the organization
  • Liaise with LMS and eLearning provider to ensure technical issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Prepare, communication and deliver the New Employee Onboarding training program
  • Responsible for communicating and marketing of training programs that will support and drive a culture of learning within the organization
  • Analyze and utilize participant feedback, comments, and recommendations to enhance learning solutions by preparing monthly reports and metrics to ensure and validate overall learning effectiveness

 Education & Skill Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a learning and development role
  • College diploma or University degree in Business Administration and and/or related field
  • Certificate in, or working towards, Adult Training (CTP or CTDP) would be an asset
  • A real team player with the desire and ability to do whatever it takes to get the job done with a "Hand's on" approach to tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, with experience in competency and needs analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of Learning Management Systems
  • Exceptional knowledge of SharePoint
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Design experience in e-learning course development using Captivate software
  • Strong diagnostic and communication skills both written and verbal, specifically presentation/facilitation skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills; proven ability to build credible collaborative relationships  
  • Prior project management experience is considered a strong asset
