Job Description

The Service Project Sales Representative will participate as a member of the Service Sales team to achieve department and project objectives.  This position will be responsible for leading the engineering process or estimate of tasks during detailed development of project sales in HVAC and Refrigeration. They will work with sales staff to perform high level analysis, focused on the components of the sale and customer requirements. The Service Project Sales Representative is responsible for establishing an ongoing partnership with the customer on assigned projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides technical, process or estimating support during project design or proposal phase
  • Assist as needed in developing the customer business case for project solution
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with major customers and prospects and focus business development efforts of the division towards areas of greatest opportunity
  • Lead or support detailed estimating of projects
  • Build detailed cost estimate and scope of work in conjunction with operations and sales staff
  • Assist in preparing proposals and other customer communication documents
  • Perform detailed estimating analysis to quantify cost savings or other cost benefits
  • Assist in technical or financial benchmarking as needed
  • Perform on-site data collection at customer facilities required to perform detailed estimates
  • Participate in meetings with Operations and Sales to ensure project scope and objectives, timeline and customer requirements are properly understood
  • Develop and maintains relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Participate in relevant professional organizations
  • Responsible for the promotion and adherence of Black & McDonald quality and safety policies

Desired Skills & Experience
  • ​​A university degree or college diploma in business, engineering or related field experience
  • 5 years experience in Commercial and Industrial mechanical systems, and/or in a technical occupation related to HVAC and/or Combustion
  • Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Building Automation controls experience is an asset
  • Experience with Accubid is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Availability to travel from time to time as required
