Job Description

​Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the Shipper/Receiver is responsible for coordinating all shipping and receiving of products for the Fabrication Division. Duties include ensuring the accuracy of all outgoing orders, investigating and correcting mistakes found in shipments, recording and properly storing product received into inventory. As required, the Shipper/Receiver will also assist with the pickup p and delivery of products and other courier items.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To plan, in conjunction with the Division Manager and the Team to execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy
  • Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships
  • Prepare accurate shipping documentation
  • Keep yard area well maintained and organized
  • Maintain shipping/receiving manifest
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of materials with internal & external customer and suppliers
  • Loading and unloading of trailers using a fork lift or zoom boom
  • Maintain shop flat stock inventory
  • Ensure company tools are maintained and in working order
  • Maintain tool crib sign out log
  • Promote prevention of accidents and provide a safe working environment – No Lost Time Accidents
  • Adherence to Black & McDonald Code of Business and to Corporate Policy
  • Professional presentation of employees, sites, office & equipment
  • Participate in the achievement of the corporate, Regional and Division objectives where applicable
  • Participate in Quality, Community, Environmental Responsibility and, Customer Service
  • Execution of work on time and on budget
Desired Skills & Experience

  • Valid fork lift operator ticket
  • Valid Tele-Handler operator ticket
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Several years' experience as a shipper receiver
  • Several years' experience in the construction industry would be beneficial
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
