Job Description

​Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Cost Control Analyst for the Ottawa region. We will provide you with a comprehensive training plan. In addition, we offer a competitive benefits and pension plan.

Job Description

  • Support Division Managers, Project Managers and Estimators in financial areas of the business
  • Report quarterly on projected gross margin at completion of project work and assist with divisional projections
  • Forecasting of project work for cost overruns
  • Reconcile labour and non-labour at a job level to ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Audit and review reports and summaries
  • Create budgets, billings and reports
  • Assist with full cycle salary payroll
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual budgets
  • Review invoices, enter data and ensure approvals are received
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all information
Desired Skills & Experience

Education and Skill Requirements

  • Post-Secondary degree in business of commerce or similar degree.
  • Working towards CPA designation or holds CPA designation
  • 1-3 years' experience working in an accounting role
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Must demonstrate attention to details and good-record keeping skills
  • Proficient in using MS applications (Word, Excel, MS Project)
  • Must be able to work within a team
