Job Description

The primary responsibilities for the Building Operator will be to perform air filter changes in various facilities in the greater Victoria area. The Building Operator will be expected to put the safety of themselves, co-workers and the public in the highest order of priority and to participate fully in our company safety program. They will plan and execute daily activities including receiving orders, scheduling access to buildings, completing the work and recording the work that has been completed on the work orders, while adhering to the monthly schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive and check material orders
  • Plan daily activities based on monthly schedules
  • Communicate with the client to gain access to buildings
  • Operate aerial man lift equipment and ladders to access and perform work in elevated areas
  • Change filters on various mechanical equipment and multiple sites
  • Report on work completed and deficiencies
  • Site clean up and waste removal
  • Pick up materials and equipment using a company vehicle
  • Participate in the company safety program
  • Maintain a safe work environment and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Available to travel to various locations
  • Clean Class 5 BC Drivers' license & abstract
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Punctual, presentable and respectful at all times
  • Available for emergency out of hours duties
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
  • Committed to working safely
  • Experience working in facilities would be preferred
  • Employment is conditional on obtaining and maintaining industrial security clearance
  • NAFA (National Air Filtration Association) Level 1 Technician certification (training to be provided)
  • Able to pass a respiratory protection fit test (training to be provided)
  • Fall protection certification (training to be provided)
  • Aerial lift certification (training to be provided)
