Position Overview

As a Service Project Sales Rep, you will be responsible for selling projects to existing clients. As a member of the Service Sales team, you will work with our clients to design and estimate solutions that achieve their business objectives and assist in the development of long term client relationships with Black & McDonald. 


This position involves:

  • The ability to understand client requirements and to sell short and long term solutions for them.
  • The ability to sell these solutions in a competitive environment.
  • Maintaining and enhancing client relationships through ongoing business development.
  • The skill to qualify opportunities, negotiate client needs and gather commitment.
  • Estimating and designing effective proposals in competitive situations.
  • Developing presentations and accepting agreements on behalf of Black & McDonald.
  • Completing concise reporting of sales backlog, sales plan activity and monthly results.
  • Possessing a desire for continued personal and professional development.​



Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications, Education & Skill Credentials

  • 5 years experience in Commercial and Industrial mechanical systems, and/or in a technical occupation related to HVAC and/or Combustion
  • A university degree or college diploma in business, engineering or related field experience; qualified tradesperson with several years experience and previous estimating experience is acceptable
  • Building Automation controls experience is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Availability to travel from time to time as required
  • Competency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Communicate effectively and be innovative in the solving of client problems
